Defenseman Henri Jokiharju, the Chicago Blackhawks’ 2017 first-round draft pick, will be on the ice at the BMO Harris Bank Centre tonight when the Rockford IceHogs take on the Chicago Wolves.

The Blackhawks assigned 19-year-old Jokiharju to the IceHogs on Thursday.

Jokiharju  made his NHL debut this season with the Blackhawks, logging 12 assists in 37 games. He posted his first multi-point effort in his second game with a pair of helpers at St. Louis on Oct. 6, and followed the effort with a three-point contest the following night vs. Toronto. The blueliner concluded his first month of action tied for first among NHL rookie defenseman in scoring with seven points (7a) in 12 games.

The Oulu, Finland native also helped his country to a gold medal at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship earlier this month. He notched five points (2g, 3a) in seven games for Team Finland during the tournament.

Jokiharju last skated with the Blackhawks on Jan. 22 vs. the New York Islanders and most recently picked up a point on Jan. 14 at New Jersey. He was drafted by the Blackhawks 29th overall in 2017.
