This week’s Sportsfan 1330 Student/Athlete of the Week, presented by Forest City Dental, goes to Belvidere senior and two-sport standout Mallory Gibbons.

This award honors those athletes who make major contributions in the classroom, their schools and their communities. And Mallory fits those criteria to a “T”.

She is a four-year starter for the Bucs softball team and played volleyball for three.

In the classroom, she carries a 3.7 grade point average, earning her a spot in the National Honor Society for two years. And she has also been part of the B Club at Belvidere.

And her involvement doesn’t stop at the school doors. Mallory has been involved in community service projects including Feed My Starving Children; Special Olympics; Rockford Sharefest; the Salvation Army and Mosaic.
