In our previous NFL Mock Drafts, we’ve looked solely at the first round. Now with the draft just three weeks away, we’ll expand into the second round.
1) Ari: QB Kyler Murray Oklahoma
2) SF: DE Nick Bosa Ohio State
3) NYJ: Edge Josh Allen Kentucky
4) Oak: DL Quinnen Williams Alabama
5) TB: LB Devin White LSU
6) NYG: Edge Rashan Gary Michigan
As we get closer to the draft, it’s starting to sound like the Giants are moving away from the idea of selecting a QB with their No. 6 pick and instead going the defensive route. Do not be surprised if New York selects a player like Gary over QB Eli Manning’s future replacement.
7) JAX: TE TJ Hockenson Iowa
8) DET: Edge Montez Sweat Miss State
9) BUF: DT Ed Oliver Houston
10) DEN: QB Drew Lock Missouri
GM John Elway has been high on Lock since the beginning and like a lot of teams, fell in love with him at the Senior Bowl. Lock has drawn comparisons to former broncos QB Jay Cutler, with similar arm strength and measurables. Lock has been slowly working his way up draft boards and could now potentially slide into the top 10. Let’s face it: Joe Flacco is not the answer or future in Denver.
11) CIN: QB Dwayne Haskins Ohio State
I know the Bengals have a big need at inside linebacker and Michigan’s Devin Bush could be their guy. But after naming Zac Taylor their head coach this offseason, something tells me that if Haskins falls to them at 11, the Bengals cannot pass on the opportunity to select Andy Dalton’s replacement.
12) GB: TE Noah Fant Iowa
The Packers added three key defensive players this offseason – including two starting pass rushers – through free agency. And even though this is a very defensive heavy draft, I could see the Packers opting to go to the offensive side of the ball and give QB Aaron Rodgers some more weapons. I’m convinced the Packers will indeed be eyeing one of the two Iowa TEs with their No. 12 selection. And with Hockenson gone, it will be Fant.
13) MIA: WR DK Metcalf Ole Miss
14) ATL: DT Christian Wilkins Clemson
15) WSH: CB Greedy Williams LSU
16) CAR: Edge Brian Burns Florida State
17) NYG: QB Daniel Jones Duke
Don’t be surprised if four QBs are selected in the first round. Most draft analysts do not view Jones as a first-round talent, but this is about a team fit. There’s no question the Giants need a young QB to eventually replace Eli Manning. Jones comes from the same system both of the Manning brothers went through back in college under their head coach at the time: David Cutcliffe. The connection between the Giants, Eli Manning and Daniel Jones is real.
18) MIN: OT Jawaan Taylor Florida
19) TEN: Edge Clelin Ferrell Clemson
20) PIT: CB Byron Murphy Washington
21) SEA: Safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson Florida
22) BAL: WR Marquise Brown Oklahoma
After trading Joe Flacco earlier this offseason the Ravens made it clear Lamar Jackson is their guy. Now it’s time to build around him. Baltimore could look to add more interior help on the offensive line or go out and grab a do-it-all type of receiver in a guy like Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. With the nickname “Hollywood,” you better be a darn good playmaker, and that is what Brown can be to this dynamic new-look offense in Baltimore.
23) HOU: OT Andre Dillard Washington State
24) OAK: LB Devin Bush Michigan
25) PHI: OT Jonah Williams Alabama
26) IND: WR N’Keal Harry Arizona State
27) OAK: RB Joshua Jacobs Alabama
28) LAC: OT Dalton Risner Kansas State
29) KC: CB DeAndre Baker Georgia
30) GB: Safety Nasir Adderley Delaware
The Packers signed safety Adrian Amos away from their rival Chicago Bears earlier this offseason, but the team could still use more secondary help. That is why I have them grabbing the best free safety on the board in Adderley.
31) LAR: Center Garrett Bradbury NC State
32) NE: TE Irv Smith Jr. Alabama
SECOND ROUND
33) ARI: DT Dexter Lawrence Clemson
34) IND: DT Jerry Tillery Notre Dame
35) OAK: Edge Jachai Polite Florida
Polite has some off-the-field concerns coming out of Florida, so he’ll fit right in with the Raiders. If there is one coach who can take on players with concerns, it would be Jon Gruden.
36) SF: WR AJ Brown Ole Miss
The Niners made it clear this offseason they are in win-now mode, and after selecting the best pass rusher in the draft class in the first round, now it’s time to start adding some WR help.
37) NYG: OT Cody Ford Oklahoma
38) JAX: OT Kaleb McGary Washington
This would be a dream scenario for the Jaguars if they are able to land a starting right tackle and a dynamic pass catcher either at WR or TE with their first two picks.
39) TB: CB Amani Oruwariye Penn State
40) BUF: WR Hakeem Butler Iowa State
41) DEN: DT Jeffery Simmons Miss State
42) CIN: LB Mack Wilson Alabama
The Bengals are desperate for inside linebacker help.
43) DET: TE Dawson Knox Ole Miss
44) GB: WR Parris Campbell Ohio State
It was a tossup here between Parris Campbell and South Carolina’s Deebo Samuel. I went with Campbell because he fills a need now at the slot position after Randall Cobb signed with the Cowboys. Campbell had a stellar combine in Indianapolis and followed that up with a good pro day. He has earned himself some money and could now be taken anywhere from late first round to mid-second round.
45) ATL: CB Lonnie Johnson Jr. Kentucky
46) WSH: WR Deebo Samuel South Carolina
47) CAR: OT Greg Little Ole Miss
48) MIA: OG Chris Lindstrom Boston College
49) CLE: Safety Taylor Rapp Washington
50) MIN: OT Michael Deiter Wisconsin
Here I have the Vikings doubling down on offensive tackles, which should show you how bad their offensive line was last season. If Minnesota can fix its offensive line issues early in the draft, this team could be a force in the NFC North again.
51) TEN: Center Erik McCoy Texas A&M
52) PIT: WR Kelvin Harmon NC State
53) PHI: RB Miles Sanders Penn State
54) HOU: CB Rock Ya-Sin Temple
55) HOU: OT Tytus Howard Alabama State
56) NE: WR Andy Isabella UMASS
Isabella is an underrated prospect who was very productive in college and is a very fast on the football field, posting an impressive 4.31 time in the 40 at the combine. Tom Brady would love to have a guy like Isabella on his football team.
57) PHI: Safety Darnell Savage Maryland
58) DAL: Safety Jonathan Abram Miss State
59) IND: Safety Juan Thornhill Virginia
60) LAC: OG Michael Jordan Ohio State
61) KC: Edge Zach Allen Boston College
62) NO: CB Joejuan Williams Vanderbilt
63) KC: Safety Deionte Thompson Alabama
64) NE: Edge D’Andre Walker Georgia
