If you’ve been watching the NBA playoffs, you’ve seen the raucous party that is at Jurassic Park outside the Toronto Raptors’ stadium.

Now Rockford is going to follow suit in honor of favorite son Fred VanVleet, who is having a stellar run in the Finals and has helped lead the Raptors to one game away from the franchise’s first NBA title.

The Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau invites the community to join in on a city celebration and watch party at Jurassic Park RKFD. This free event for all ages will be held at the City Market Pavilion on Monday with gates opening at 6 p.m. Game time is 8 p.m., as Toronto holds a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series and could wrap up the title on Monday.

“There’s a lot of buzz and excitement around town about the Finals. As he has done since his days at Auburn, Fred continues to make Rockford proud. We invite everyone to attend and help us celebrate Fred’s amazing run in the NBA championship games,” said RACVB President/CEO John Groh. “We are cheering for Fred, for the Toronto Raptors and for Rockford!”

Located at the corner of East State and Water streets, Jurassic Park RKFD will feature a jumbo screen airing the game, the FVV Shop Pop-Up Store, food and beverage trucks, a pre-game DJ party and VanVleet signage for photo opportunities. For more details, visit GoRockford.com/FVVFinals.
