These Rockford Area Stores will be closed for Thanksgiving, allowing their workers to spend time with their families for the holiday.
Nothing drives me more insane than watching my family who work in retail, leave to go to work before we even cut the Pumpkin Pie.
It’s a part of life, sometimes we miss out on holidays. I know I have! That’s what happens when you work in radio, health care, first responders… I know it’s not always avoidable. But for the retail industry, I personally believe all should be able to stay home and spend time with their families.
Many big retailers have decided to close on Thanksgiving, a new trendy time to stay open for pre-Black Friday deals. I give a round of applause to those who have decided to close.
So far, according to BestBlackFriday.com, these retailers have announced they will be closed on Thanksgiving:
- Ace Hardware
- BJ’s (open Black Friday at 7 a.m.)
- Costco
- Guitar Center (open for Black Friday at 7 a.m.)
- Hobby Lobby (open for Black Friday at 8 a.m.)
- HomeGoods (open for Black Friday at 7 a.m.)
- Lowe’s (open for Black Friday at 6 a.m.)
- Marshalls (open for Black Friday at 7 a.m.)
- Petco (open for Black Friday at 8 a.m.)
- Sam’s Club
- Stein Mart
- T.J.Maxx (open for Black Friday at 7 a.m.)
- True Value
I personally have not heard yet from local business owners on their plans for the holiday. But when I do, I’ll add them to the list!
