“Without Grace,” a romantic drama, based on a true story, will hold it’s World Premiere Red Carpet event Friday, May 1, 2020 at The Nordloff Center in downtown Rockford,
Illinois. Rockford’s own Steve Summers of 95.3 The Bull will be the honorary host for opening night!
Encore presentations will also be held at The Nordloff Center on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, 2020. “Without Grace” follows “Lucas” on a journey that is both heart wrenching and heart warming featuring plenty of laughs along the way.
Filming took place from September 21st through October 20, 2019 in Rockford, Illinois at area locations including Saint Ambrogio Society, Hope and Anchor, Sheri’s Place,
Town Hall Lounge, Alpine Park and numerous others. During the filming of the movie there was a call for local extras, allowing people from Rockford and the surrounding areas to be apart of the feature film and the people showed up in droves. Well over one hundred locals were featured in some capacity in “Without Grace.”
Due to the overwhelming positive local response gained during the filming of “Without Grace”, the decision was made to hold the World Premiere of the feature film in Rockford, Illinois, as opposed to Los Angeles, where premieres are traditionally held. “The local media and Rockford community have been beyond supportive.” Screenwriter and Director, Matthew Cichella, said in a statement. “There was never a doubt in my mind, we need to host the World Premiere in Rockford. This is a Hollywood caliber film made in Rockford, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
“Without Grace” is written and directed by Rockford’s own, Matthew Cichella. He premiered his first short film “Innocent Looks” in 2010 at the On The Waterfront film
festival to a standing ovation. Followed up with “Poetic” in 2012, which is now available On Demand on Tubi TV. “Without Grace” features a cast that includes established
actors: Shannon Brown (Every 21 Seconds), Robyn Coffin (Chicago Fire), Hilary Anderson (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas), Heidi Kurzejka (Chicago PD), Marc Edwards (Poetic), as well as talent from the Rockford and Chicago area.
