With six weeks left to go in the regular season, the Rockford IceHogs find themselves in a tight playoff race.

Four teams are separated by two points in the AHL Central Division.  Rockford is battling it out with Grand Rapids, Chicago, and San Antonio.  Only the top two would make the postseason if it started today.

THIS WEEKEND
The IceHogs have an excellent opportunity to get ahead in the playoff race, but it won’t be easy.  Rockford will play two of those Central Division rivals, starting with Grand Rapids on Friday.  The Griffins are currently two points ahead in the standings.

Friday’s game will mark the first time since February 21st that the IceHogs have played at home.  They’ll need a strong showing, because it’s the first of a back-to-back-to-back.

After the game on Friday, Rockford will head to Grand Rapids for a Saturday rematch.  The Chicago Wolves will await them in Rosemont on Sunday afternoon.

Here’s a closer look at the upcoming week.
