Residents should be prepared to throw away food that’s been sitting in their refrigerator as is might take a few days to restore power to all their customers after Monday’s, August 10th, storms, says a spokesperson for ComEd.

So far, there have been 325,000 power outages in Illinois, 18,000 of them being in the Rockford area reported by ComEd. To help get power restored quicker, the company says they are bringing in additional crews, an estimated 1,100.
