The 2020 NFL season is officially here and we have 3 former star athletes from our area already making an impact at the next level! Here’s a quick update

Lutheran Crusader-Illinois State Redbirds-Jacksonville Jaguars RB James Robinson

James Robinson stole the show on Thursday night football vs the Dolphins which unfortunately ended in an 31-13 loss. Robinson’s best efforts was what kept Jacksonville even in the game finishing with both touchdowns for the Jaguars leading the team in rushing & receiving yards. Catching all 6 of his targets for 83 yards to go along with 46 rushing yards on 11 carriers including his 2 rushing touchdowns!

Through 3 games Robinson is 2nd in the NFL with 210 rushing yards & 3 touchdowns, ranks 2nd among all RBs with 129 receiving yards on 10 catches. The former Lutheran standout is already making a huge impact on the field for the 1-2 Jacksonville Jaguars!

Boylan Titan-University of Wisconsin-Platteville-Arizona Cardinals TE Dan Arnold

Last Sunday Dan Arnold had 2 catches for 26 yards on 4 targets in a 30-15 win over the Washington Football Team! So far through 2 games this season starting TE Dan Arnold ranks 5th on the team in targets. I expect that number to go up as the season progresses.

Boylan Titan-Northwestern Wildcat-Green Bay Packers DL Dean Lowry

Last Sunday the Packers picked up another huge division win over the Detroit Lions, 42-21 the final. Dean Lowry had a big part in the win but it might not show up on the stat sheet as he only finished with 2 total tackles on the day with 1 solo tackle. Dean Lowry was resigned last offseason to help in the run defense department. On Sunday the Packers held Detroit to just 89 total rushing yards which including RB Kerryon Johnson’s goal line touchdown run.

At the College Level:

Harlem Huskie-Syracuse Orange Defensive linemen Joshua Black

After losing a tough ACC defensive battle to #25 ranked Pittsburgh Joshua Black still had one heck on a day. Finishing the game with 5 total tackles including 3 solo tackles, 1 tackle for loss & 1 sack vs Pitt. Syracuse might have an 0-2 record but their defense has been good while the offense continues to struggle on the other side of the ball.

East E-Rab-Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders Offensive Linemen Robert Jones

The 6’4 330 pound linemen has played very well to start the 2020 season for the Blue Raiders. Some NFL scouts are saying that if he continues to protect his QB & RBs in the backfield Robert Jones could here his name called early next spring in the 2021 NFL Draft!
