Governor Pritzker Expands COVID Mitigation Restrictions

Gov. JB Pritzker has announced new COVID-19 restrictions that will take effect statewide. .All regions in Illinois will now operate under Tier 3 mitigations of the Resurgence Mitigation Plan.

The new mitigations affect:

The new restrictions aim to limit gatherings and encourage people to stay home as much as possible. They will go into effect at 12:01am on Friday, November 20.

The Tier 3 restrictions are as follows:

Bars and Restaurants

Health and Fitness Centers

Hotels

Indoor Recreation, Theaters, Cultural Institutions (casinos, bowling, arcades, movie theaters, museums, and zoos)

Manufacturing

Offices

Organized Group Recreational Activities (sports, indoor sports and activity facilities, etc.)

Personal Care Services

Retail

Grocery stores will remain open.

Schools should continue to follow guidance released by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in August.

Child care facilities can continue to operate under guidance from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).

This is not a new stay at home order, but Pritzker said if the new mitigations are not followed, another stay at home order could be implemented.
