Here are today’s Nerd News! headlines:

Mortal Kombat hits theaters and HBO Max soon, and in anticipation, the filmmakers give us a peek at the films finishers.

A fifth installment in the Scream film franchise is on the way. They’re going to call it… and brace yourselves for cleverness overload… Scream 5. The film will come out in 2022 and they’re playing their cards quite close to the vest, sending out several different versions of the script and different cuts of the film, all to avoid spoilers. You know because people are clamoring for those Scream plot-points.

Another casting choice has been made for the upcoming Toxic Avenger remake. Jacob Tremblay (Good Boys, 2019) just made the cast, joining the already cast Peter Dinklage. It is yet unclear which roles they two will play. It’s also unclear whether the film will be R rated like the original, or more watered down.
