CHICAGO— A number of Illinois parents who are trying to find employment will get three months of child care assistance, Gov. JB Pritzker announced Monday in Chicago.

Bonuses of up to $1,000 will also be provided to eligible child care workers. This funding is meant to help parents get back on their feet and into the workforce.

In order to receive the three free months of child care, parents must meet the Child Care Assistance Program eligibility requirements, starting Oct. 1.

A total of $300 million will be available to providers across Illinois.
