ROCKFORD  — Lace up your running shoes because the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau‘s Dasher Dash 5K is back.

The annual race, which coincides with Stroll on State, was held virtually last year because, well … 2020.

This year it’s back with a noon start time on Saturday, Nov. 27, the day of Stroll on State.

This year’s race will be on a new course that moves through the core area of the Stroll on State grounds along East State, Madison and Wyman streets in downtown.

The new race route will allow runners and spectators a sneak peek of the festival grounds all decorated for the holidays. There will also be an after-race party at Davis Park with awards and medals given out to the top performers and participants.

Registration is open now and is $35 for adults and $20 for kids 12 and younger. The entry fee includes an online processing fee and race swag, including a race shirt. Registration closes on Thursday, Nov. 25 at 11:59 p.m. and there will be no race day registration. Runners interested in participating can register online at strollonstate.com.
