ROCKFORD — The weather is getting colder, which means you’re probably looking for something fun to do INSIDE.
You’re in luck because there are plenty of fun happenings in the area this weekend. Dan Obert from the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau joined us Thursday on the Morning Routine on B103 to discuss all there is to do this weekend.
Here are four ideas for weekend fun:
Gabriel Iglesias: 2021 Beyond The Fluffy World Tour Go Big or Go Home
Get ready to laugh tonight, Oct. 15, with comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, starting at 8 p.m.
Iglesias is among a handful of comedians to sell out the Staples Center, Madison Square Garden and the Sydney Opera House, according to the visitors bureau. He is also one of the most-watched comedians on YouTube with more than a half-billion views and has more than 24 million fans across social media. Tickets are still available for purchase, HERE.
Frosty Fridays public ice skating
Get your family, friends, or the kids together for some Friday night fun at the Rockford Park District’s Carlson Ice Arena, 4150 N. Perryville Road, Loves Park.
Frosty Fridays are discounted indoor public ice skating sessions, which are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Friday through April 29. For all ages, admission is $7 per person which includes skate rental.

Get the Led Out
Are you a Led Zeppelin fan? Head out to the Coronado Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Oct. 16, for an epic concert from a Led Zeppelin cover band — without the fake English accents or wigs.
According to the RACVB, “Get The Led Out (GTLO) has captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought it to the concert stage. GTLO recreates the songs in all their depth and glory with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed.”
National Fossil Day
Celebrate Fossil Day at the Burpee Museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16. There will be interactive booths available for guests to explore how fossils are created, geological time periods, and the importance of minerals that have an effect on our lives today.
