Carpenter’s Place, a leading community not-for- profit organization that helps rebuild the lives of the homeless and families in crisis, has created a new fundraising event, called ‘Steps Towards Change’, coinciding with November’s National Homelessness Awareness Month.
The Walk is scheduled for Sunday, November 12, with check-in starting at 2:30pm at Carpenter’s Place, 1149 Railroad Ave. Participants will then walk through parts of Rockford’s Midtown District, culminating with a simple meal of homemade soup and bread at Carpenter’s Place. Participants will have an opportunity to tour Carpenter’s Place, and, most importantly, learn more about its many programs that directly benefit the area’s homeless and families in crisis.
