Our latest recipient of the Sportsman Radio 1330 Student/Athlete of the Week is Rockford Christian’s Cal Granite.

Cal is a senior three-sport athlete, participating in cross country, basketball and track. He is a 4-time state qualifier in cross country and a two-time state qualifier in track.

In the classroom, Cal carries a 4.48 grade point average, which includes 12 AP classes, which has earned him induction into the National Honor Society. He has also served as treasurer for Student Council  all four years of his high school career. 

Cal also volunteers at Johnson Elementary School through the National Honor Society, as well as the school concessions stand and various community events. 

The Student/Athlete of the Week program is geared to honor athletes who do more than star on the field or court. While they don’t have to be all-conference as an athlete, we want people who are all-conference as students and community members. Cal Granite fits that model perfectly.
