This week’s Sportsfan 1330 Student/Athlete of the Week Award, brought to you by Forest City Dental, goes to North Boone senior Matt Hutchinson.

This award honors those athletes who make major contributions in the classroom, their schools and their communities, and Matt fits those criteria.

Matt is a two-sport athlete for the Vikings, serving as an offensive lineman and linebacker on the football team, and this spring he’s part of the baseball team.

And off the field, he is very involved in his school. It starts in the classroom, where Matt carries a 4.2 grade point average and is a member of National Honor Society.

And outside of the classroom, Matt is involved in community work including Habitat for Humanity and the K Cancer Baseball Program.
