Can you believe that Christmas is only a few weeks away? Wouldn’t it be great to surprise your child this year with a personalized letter from Santa Claus that doesn’t cost you a ton of money? Well, the U.S. Postal service can help! This is also a great way to help teach your children the value of using Snail Mail!! Here’s how it works:
Have your child write a letter to Santa and address the envelope to Santa Claus – North Pole. Then, put their letter in a safe place until they aren’t around.
Open the letter, read it and write a response on festive letterhead. Don’t for get to sign it from SANTA CLAUS!
Put your letter into an envelope, address the envelope to your child, seal and add postage. Make sure the return address portion says Santa Claus – North Pole
Place your child/childrens “return letters from Santa” into a larger envelope, put your name as the return address, add correct postage and address it to:
In a few days, start checking the mail. Your child’s personalized letter from Santa should arrive with a North Pole postmark, courtesy of the Postal Service and Santa’s helpers.
The U.S. Postal Service says that everyone who wants a letter back from Santa should mail their letters to the North Pole by Saturday, December 8. That way, they can get to Anchorage, Alaska, by Dec. 15 — and a postmarked reply can appear in your mailbox around Christmas. The whole thing will only cost you about $1, or the price of two stamps.
You can also send letters to The Santa Claus Museum in Santa Claus, Indiana. Simply follow the instructions above, and mail to: Santa Claus, P.O. Box 1, Santa Claus, IN 47579, and mail it. (This only requires one stamp, so it costs about $0.50.) The museum states on their website that every letter will receive a response as long as it arrives in their post office by December 20th, 2020. But of course, the earlier they receive it, the better.
