The Chicago White Sox announced on Wednesday that the reason that reigning AL MVP Jose Abreu had not yet reported to Spring Training was due to a positive COVID-19 test. Sox GM Rick Hahn stated that the team believed he contracted a mild case sometime last month as further testing showed that Abreu had COVID antibodies in his system. Abreu is currently asymptomatic and the Sox hope that he will be able to show up to camp on Friday or Monday.
