Former Chicago Bear and Super Bowl champion Otis Wilson was in Loves Park on March 23 as part of a fundraiser for the Northern Illinois Spartans youth football team. He took time to talk with Dean Ervin and Randy Ruef about his career and his life after football.

Freeport senior Major Dedmond saw two of his last three seasons in wrestling end in a shoulder injury. He still placed as a sophomore and a junior, but his chase for a state title has come up short. This year, with a 31-1 record and No. 2 seed in the state in Class 2A at the 170-pound category, he looks to close his high school career on top.

Senior bowler Jacob Sommer is carrying a 228 average while leading the Indians to the NIC-10 title and last weekend, the regional title. Next is Sectionals this week at Don Carter Lanes, followed by another run at a state championship.
