K Cancer Softball - and K Cancer Baseball - is an amazing program that has young softball/baseball teams working to raise money and awareness of childhood cancer. It was started by Randy Rapier, and has grown into a successful program that helps local families dealing with childhood cancer. Belvidere North's Tommy Crocker is just 19 years old, but he's already attended the Harry Wendelstedt Umpiring School and is set to call games in the Northwoods League this summer. All this, with the goal of someday calling balls and strikes in a Major League ballpark.
