Reel in the fun at the Forest Preserves of Winnebago County’s annual free fishing experience just for kids! Hooked on Fun Kids Fishing Derby will take place at Four Lakes
Forest Preserve (10207 Fish Hatchery Road, Pecatonica, IL 61063) on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

This is a great opportunity to introduce your kids to fishing in a safe and controlled environment. Four Lakes Forest Preserve provides several shallow, small lakes which are easily
accessible and provide an ideal setting to introduce and teach kids about fishing. No fishing experience? No problem! Staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist and educate children and family members.

There will be free t-shirts during early check-in; participant prizes, trophies for the winning individual in each age group, and a big fish trophy for the individual that reels in the
biggest fish overall! Participants must bring their own fishing poles, however, there will be a limited number of loaner poles for those who do not have their own. Bait will be provided. There will also be a live aquarium display hosted by the Forest Preserves Natural Resources
Department.
