Blocks of snow are transformed into works of art as teams from around the state compete in Rockford January 24-27, 2024, for the right to represent Illinois in the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Competition in 2025. There is also a high school division. As many as 50,000 visitors view these massive works of snow art each year.
VIEWING HOURS – Daily from sunrise until 10:00 pm. You may drive or walk through. Sculptures will remain up in the park after the event for as long as weather conditions allow.
PARKING – Limited parking available at Sinnissippi Park. Additional parking available in the overflow parking lot at Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens (1354 N 2nd St), located just west of Sinnissippi Park across IL 251/N 2nd St.
VOTING – All votes cast for the people’s choice award in the state and high school divisions will be done online at https://www.tallyspace.com/vote/rockfordparkdistrict. Votes will be accepted Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 1:00 pm.
ALTERNATE DATES – If a postponement is needed due to weather or conditions, the event will be held Feb. 7-10, 2024.
