Wednesday’s 33rd annual Ryan Jury Memorial Golf Outing raised more than $70,000, pushing total donations well over $1.3 million over the life of the event.

The outing is held each year by the Jury family in memory of their son, Ryan, who died of cancer at the age of 23 months in 1986.

“Our family still cannot believe it’s been 33 years since Ryan passed and we hosted our first outing to support SwedishAmerican,” Ryan’s father Greg Jury, the mayor of Loves Park, said in a press release. “We honestly can’t thank everyone enough, from the Foundation to the sponsors to our community and our family, for their generosity and support and most importantly for continuing to honor Ryan’s legacy.”

All funds raised from the golf outing – which took place at Aldeen Golf Club – benefit the kids of SwedishAmerican, particularly the expansion of SwedishAmerican’s new four-story Women’s and Children’s Tower which will include a level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
