Auburn 26-22 Jefferson: Potential Game of the Year?

What a finish!

Auburn led most of the game until the very end when Jefferson drove down the field in their two minute offense and got all the way down to the Knights two yard line. From there Auburn held the J-Hawks to 4th and goal at their 2 yard line but Jefferson was able to punch it in with about 21 seconds remaining to stun the crowd. The Knights were without their starting QB Sanders who left the game earlier with an injury. But that didn’t matter as Auburn came out swinging once they got the ball back on their first play as they converted on a 56-yard Hail Mary pass to complete the last second walk-off win over their RPS 205 rival Jefferson.

I’m saying it right now, this was the GAME OF THE YEAR!!

Harlem 15-9 Belvidere North: Defensive Battle on Homecoming Night!

On paper this was the best match-up of the night as the top two ranked offenses in the conference squared off in front of Harlem’s homecoming crowd. After a huge win vs Hononegah last week the Blue Thunder came into this match-up wanting to prove that wasn’t just a one game fluke. North got off to a good start by controlling the time of possession and making sure to keep the ball away from QB James Cooper Jr. and the rest of Harlem’s high powering offense as much as possible. Belvidere North’s defense was relentless causing havoc in the Huskies backfield all night long. Harlem’s first year Head Coach Bob Moynihan was ejected early in the 3rd quarter for arguing with the officials. Harlem’s Junior star QB James Cooper Jr. helped the Huskies slowly chip away at North’s lead and eventually came back to win the game late in the 4th quarter for an absolute thriller on homecoming night!

Freeport 28-14 East: Freeport keeps its playoff hopes alive!

Freeport’s defense stays hot on the road against East as they pickup another win and are now just one win away from playoff eligibility. The Pretzels defense has been of fire lately after allowing now a total of 14 points in their last three games, best in the NIC-10 during that span. With only two games remaining in the regular season Freeport has with out a doubt the toughest remaining schedule with games against Boylan and Belvidere North. On the other side East played Freeport tough, as their star Running-back and NIC-10 leading rusher Tay’veon Lake kept his team in the game and did everything he could but the Pretzels defense was just too much in the end.

Boylan 64-6 Guilford: The Titans clinch a share of the NIC-10 Title!

Boylan came out strong on Friday night vs the Vikings jumping out to an early 21-6 lead and never looked back after that as the Titans stay undefeated and clinch a share of the NIC-10 conference title.

Hononegah 41-10 Belvidere: Hononegah snapped its two game skid on the road!

The Indians improved to 11-1 in their last 12 meetings vs Belvidere with an easy 41-10 victory on the road. Hononegah also improves to 5-2 on the season and stays tied for second place with three other teams; Auburn, Harlem, and Belvidere North in the conference standings.
