The IHSA announced one of the biggest changes in high school sports in decades when it said the conference system for football will go away in 2021 in favor of a district system that will match teams up with more similar student populations.

Belvedere Coach Darin Wecker, whose school voted in favor of the change and will likely benefit from it, talked about what he expects from the new format.
